We recognise our responsibility to safeguard all children, young people and adults at risk and promote their welfare.
We do this by creating a safe environment within which they can thrive and where Sustrans staff, volunteers and other representatives can work with the security of clear guidance.
We take our safeguarding responsibilities very seriously throughout the organisation.
There are clear procedures for reporting and managing any safeguarding concerns. And we work closely with relevant authorities such as the police and social services.
All Sustrans staff and relevant volunteers receive safeguarding training.
Our staff and volunteers are recruited safely, with disclosure checks where required for staff working with children, young people and adults at risk. These staff also carry out additional training.
We consider the safeguarding risks in all of our activities and events to ensure that participants, staff and volunteers are safe.
