Mostly on traffic-free paths, many parts of this route are suitable for beginners and families beginners and families and provide access to green spaces in this densely populated part of London. The trail begins in Cator Park, Beckenham, then heads north through the park to New Beckenham, Bellingham and Catford. You then head through Lewisham and Deptford, finishing on the River Thames in Greenwich.
Greenwich is a World Heritage Site with several attractions, such as the Old Royal Naval College with its Painted Hall – the largest painted interior in Europe. Only five minutes away is the Cutty Sark, where you can explore this historic sailing ship and discover the drama of life at sea, and the National Maritime Museum.
